We review the Trader Joe’s Grand Reserve Lot 105 Russian River Valley Pinot Noir to find out if it measures up.
This wine is available exclusively at Trader Joe’s and sells for just $12.99.
Trader Joe’s Grand Reserve Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes grown in this part of Sonoma County. This dark-ruby red is well-structured, with notes of wild strawberries and ripe raspberries. It is bright, elegant, and complex, with a nice acidity that creates a clean, smooth finish. It is delightfully drinkable. And like any classic Pinot Noir, it can be paired with so many different foods and flavors. Enjoy it with pasta topped with Autumnal Harvest Pasta Sauce. Have a glass with a side of Pumpkin Empanadas. Or simply sip it alongside some cheese and crackers.

The 2020 Trader Joe’s Grand Reserve RRV Pinot Noir Lot 105 opens with pleasing and harmonious aromas of black cherry and cola plus hints of leather, strawberry, rhubarb and earth.
Tasting the wine reveals it to be smooth with light touches of spice and light touches of earth. Nicely balanced, it’s actually more on the elegant side of things believe it or not.
It ends dry and long with a little oaky spice and earth under the lasting fruit. This is a solid example of Pinot Noir for just $12.99
