Zdravko Mastnak is the creator of Mastnak wines, he is an enologist and agronomy engineer, dedicating his life to crafting top-quality Slovenian Sparkling Wines, located in Zajčja Gora, above Sevnica.

Over 27 years of history sits behind Mastnak, with the capacity to produce 4000 bottles a day and store 300,000 bottles in their cellar which is open to visitors to explore on guided tours.

That’s not all, you can also plan your wedding at the venue, with catering services available, but for something a little more low-key, you can look around their winery shop and buy direct for a cheaper price.

The Aperitivo – Hotel Starlino

Hotel Starlino has created a Rosé Aperitivo, created by Denis Muni and Beppe Ronco, both have worked at Torino Distillati for over 20 years and are natives of the Piedmont Region.

Their lives have been dedicated to the world of crafting Vermouths and Aperitivos and upon their journey they came up with the idea of aging Rosso Vermouth in Bourbon barrels, wanting it to become deliciously smooth and add a touch of spice to the flavour.

Aroma – “Cherries in syrup, cranberries and floral notes on the aroma.”

Flavour – “A combo of sweet and sharp red cherries, black cherries and cranberries.”

Ingredients

  • Rosé Sparkling Wine
  • Aperitivo
  • Vermouth
  • Maraschino Cherries

How To Make The Cherry Hotel Cocktail

  • Pour in 10mls of Vermouth
  • 20mls of Aperitivo
  • Add 1tsp of Maraschino Cherry Syrup
  • Top up with Rosé Sparkling Wine
  • Add 2 or 3 Maraschino Cherries to a Little Umbrella or Cocktail Stick and Place in the Glass

The Hotel Starlino Cherries are natural Maraschino cherries that are matured for two weeks in their natural Marasca juice and then left for another week to achieve their peak flavour.

Aroma – “Syrupy cherries, sweet spices, nutmeg, cloves & cinnamon, sponge cake and cherry/strawberry tart on the aroma.”

Flavour – “The characteristics of naturally sweet and syrupy sweet have both entered the arena, with strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, red cherries and black cherries on the palate.”
